Troubleshooting

Looking for general questions about accuracy, formats, and automation? See the FAQ.

Conversion & quality

How accurate is the conversion? Most documents convert cleanly to WCAG 2.1 AA HTML. You can review the result, edit the HTML directly, and re-check it before you publish — so you always ship something you've verified.

Is the output really WCAG compliant? Every conversion is analyzed and repaired against WCAG 2.1 AA, and you get a downloadable conformance report as proof. A file that reaches 100% carries a WCAG AA badge.

Does it work with scanned PDFs? Scanned (image-only) PDFs have no real text, so they score low until text is recovered. The converter extracts text where it can; for purely scanned images, results depend on scan quality.

Does it handle complex equations and layouts? Yes — math is rendered as MathML, and multi-column layouts, sidebars, and footnotes are reconstructed into a logical reading order.

Files, formats & limits

What can I convert? PDF, DOCX, PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, and TIFF.

Is there a size or batch limit? Up to 10 MB per file and 50 files per batch.

What about password-protected PDFs? Remove the password before uploading — the converter can't open protected files.

Can I convert a batch at once? Yes: use folder upload or select multiple files, and connect an S3 bucket to auto-convert at volume.

Output & usage

What formats can I download? Accessible HTML, a tagged Accessible PDF (when available), the conformance report, and your original file.

How do I use the HTML in my LMS or website? Either share the hosted link, or download the HTML and upload it into your LMS/CMS. Linking keeps it up to date if you re-convert.

Does it handle right-to-left languages? Yes — reading order and direction are preserved in the tagged output.

Privacy & storage

Where are my documents stored? Do you train AI on them? Your files and outputs are stored to your account; we do not train models on your documents. You can also store outputs in your own S3-compatible bucket.

Can students or others see my uploads? No — files are private to your account and only reachable through the share links you create.

Billing

Is there a free trial? Yes — your first 10 pages are free.

How much does it cost? The standard rate is $1/page, with lower per-page pricing on higher-volume plans. A credit is charged per page when a conversion completes; see Account & billing for refunds and plans.
