Troubleshooting & FAQ
My URL scan is stuck on "Processing…" or errored. Scans need a publicly reachable page and poll for up to about 5 minutes. If the page requires a login, sits behind a firewall, 404s, or redirects in a loop, rendering fails. Confirm the URL is public and try a simpler page (e.g. the homepage) first.
Can I paste raw HTML instead of a URL? The scanner works from a URL (or an audit hand-off). Point it at the live page you want to fix rather than pasting markup.
The fix wizard says "No audit was specified" or "Audit job not found." The wizard needs a valid job from a completed audit. Open it from the audit results page (the Fix Wizard button) rather than a hand-typed URL — that carries the job id and your sign-in. A "You need to sign in" message means your session expired; reopen it from the audit page.
The conformance report says "Quick preview" — will it fill in? Yes. A 7-rule quick preview shows immediately while the full 50-criterion VPAT audit finishes in the background (up to ~2 minutes). Reload and reopen the job if needed — progress is saved.
I edited the HTML but the violation count didn't change. The editor re-validates when you leave edit mode (visual view) or as you type (code view, debounced). Wait a second after exiting edit mode, or open the WCAG panel to see the current count.
A fix is marked "Dev Required" — can I do it in the editor? No. Those need code changes (landmark structure, skip links, etc.) and aren't editable inline. Download the Punch List (Markdown) and hand it to your developers.
An old job shows "Assets unavailable." Very old jobs may no longer have their files stored. Re-run the scan to regenerate the remediated HTML and reports.
Do I need to sign in? Is it free? Sign-in is required, and usage draws on your credit balance — see Account & billing.
