Troubleshooting & FAQ
My website scan failed with a DNS error. The domain couldn't be resolved. Check the URL for typos and confirm the site is publicly reachable.
The scan timed out.
A page has up to about 10 minutes to respond. Timeouts usually mean the server is slow or is blocking automated requests (a firewall/WAF or robots.txt rule). Try again off-peak, or check with the site owner.
My PDF was rejected — what's the size limit? PDFs must be 50 MB or smaller. Compress or split the file and scan each part.
I uploaded a PDF but the audit says it's empty. The file arrived as 0 bytes — usually an interrupted or corrupted upload. Re-upload it; if it persists, try a different copy of the PDF.
What does "Needs manual review" mean — is it a violation? No. These are checks automated tools can't fully verify (keyboard order, screen-reader announcements, focus order). Use Start guided verification to walk through each one and confirm or override the result.
How many pages can a crawl cover? Up to 25 pages from the starting URL (one level deep). For a single page, use Single page mode.
Is scanning free? Scanning uses free credits you get on sign-up — no card required to start. Larger volumes draw down credits; see Account & billing.
Can I run audits in CI?
Yes — there's a CI runner (theaccessible-audit-ci) for auditing pages on every pull request. See your audit history for details.
